Klock's Island Campground Opens, Bathrooms Remain Closed

Three City of Fayette Announcements:
1) Klock’s Island Campground will open to campers tomorrow (Friday, May 8th) at 5AM. The restrooms, showers and the playground equipment will remain closed until further notice. Campers are reminded to use social distancing, to increase hygiene practices and to use other public health measures to reduce the risk of transmission of COVID-19 consistent with the guidance issued by the Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH). As a reminder, there may not be any gatherings of more than 10 people. You may still use recreational trails around town, but please use social distancing and other recommended guidelines.
2) Recycling bins are back in Fayette (located next to the U.S. Post Office). Please be patient over the next few weeks if the containers fill up quickly as I’m sure everyone will be dropping off a few weeks of recyclables. Please ensure that all recyclables are placed in proper compartments and free of plastic bags, films and Styrofoam.
3) The City of Fayette is hoping to still have a Spring Clean-up day, however, we are also taking necessary precautions to help minimize the spread of COVID-19. We will release more information within the next week or two as far as if we will have a Spring Clean-up day or not. Once a decision is made, we will post it on the city’s website, city’s social media and in the community email.

There is no place like home. And there is no place like Fayette.
